About the Design
The Doomsday Clock is a design that warns the public about how close we are to destroying our world with dangerous technologies of our own making. Midnight on the Clock symbolizes the end of humanity and the Bulletin's Science and Security Board sets the Clock closer to or further away from midnight depending on the state of nuclear risk, climate change, and disruptive technologies. Right now, it is 90 seconds to midnight on the Clock--the closest it has ever been to midnight.
